Before returning to the U.S. in 2010, I spent six years living, teaching and traveling abroad. I've taught in China, Mexico, France and Japan, trekked across Patagonia and Borneo, and watched many atrocious movies on second-class buses. My work has been published on Amazon's Kindle Singles, World Hum, Perceptive Travel, and a number of other online and print publications. I am the founder of Velamag.com, an online magazine of creative nonfiction inspired by travel and written by women.
