Born in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, I received a BA in Environmental Studies and Writing
from Prescott College in Arizona. After a few years as a field ornithologist/ gardener/bartender/off-the-
grid-cabin-dweller, I received my MA in English from Northern Michigan University where I served as
Managing Editor for the literary journal Passages North. I've freelanced locally in western
Massachusetts, where I was also the recipient of the Boschen Fund for Artists Grant through the
Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. My essay about mountain lion sightings in the eastern US is
forthcoming from Terrain.org.
