Tyler McAndrew

Tyler McAndrew is a visiting lecturer in the English Department. He has taught courses in Creative Writing, Composition, and Literature, with a primary interest in contemporary fiction and short stories. His background is in creative writing, and he earned his MFA in fiction from Pitt in 2014. His short stories, essays, and poems have appeared in literary journals such as EPOCH, Salt Hill, Gulf Coast, and others. He is also the author of several short horror comics illustrated and published by Pittsburgh artist Nate McDonough, and has recently co-produced a podcast episode for Harper's Magazine, “The Haunting of Western Pennsylvania,” which was written by Rachel Wilkinson and explores the world of haunted house attractions within the Pittsburgh area. His work has received multiple Pushcart Prize nominations and he is an alum of the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley in California.
