Doug Swanson

Doug Swanson is a veteran investigative reporter and editor. He has written five novels and one non-fiction book, Blood Aces: The Wild Ride of Benny Binion, the Texas Gangster Who Created Vegas Poker. His novel Big Town was a finalist for the Edgar Award and won the John Creasey Award from the British Crime Writers Association. His investigative history of the Texas Rangers will be published by Viking in late 2018.
Swanson was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in feature writing, and was a John S. Knight Fellow in Journalism at Stanford University. He has taught journalism at Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Austin. He also has worked as a ring announcer for professional boxing matches in Fort Worth, Texas.
